Fisher House 

What is Fisher House?

These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve. Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee. Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $200 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.

 

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity prides itself in aiding wounded soldiers and their familiies in their time of need.  Through our Military Heros Campaign we are able to help and aid these families.  

 

On April 6th, 2014,  The Theta-Nu Chapter hosted their first Miles in a Soldiers Shoes Philanthropy Event.  With the support of Family, Friends, and the AU Greek Community, we were able to raise about $1,500 for the Fisher House.  We look to do this event again in the Spring Semester and hope that we recieve the same support.  Thank you everyone that came out to this wonderful event last spring.
